Sharing The Love In Versailles
Welcome to The Galerie – we are so excited to share our renovation journey with you!
Originally built in 1922, The Galerie's building served as the sanctuary for the Versailles United Methodist Church until late 2017.
It wasn't hard to fall in love with the property, which is now the cornerstone of Steeplechase Centre, and we went under contract as soon as we could. The sanctuary space is beautiful with high ceilings, intricate woodwork, and dreamy seed-glass windows; while the lower levels offer ample space for bridal and groom's suites.
We knew immediately we wanted to revive the space into a place that could be enjoyed by future generations of Kentuckians. Kite Riddle Holdings purchased the building Jan. 31, 2018 and we hit the ground running prepping the space for renovations.
One of the many challenges in renovating historic buildings is deciding what to keep and what to let go of. The building has meant so much to the local community, our goal from the outset was to preserve the iconic steeple and white-washed exterior that has made this building a landmark in Versailles for generations.
Demo is underway and we have several months before the final reveal – but along the way we will have tons of updates, exciting collaborations, and once-in-a-lifetime milestones.
Please follow our blog to see the progress of change in the space from our original photos, to demo days and beyond. See you at The Galerie!
