Colton, you Dunn-good. Celebrating the new Mr. & Mrs. Clark in style, grace, and good taste.
Reposted from our friend, the lovely #lousivillephotograher, Shannon Drummond.
February took me back to Versailles, Kentucky for a beautiful wedding at one of my absolute favorite wedding venues - The Galerie. Not only is The Galerie a beautiful event space, with elegantly decorated rooms; what makes them one of the best venues in the state is the quality of service. Jessica and The Galerie staff have always been upbeat, friendly, and helpful.
Even with a spectacular venue that lives up to a bride and groom’s wildest expectations, you never know what to expect with winter weddings in Kentucky. They are a complete gamble.
There could be a foot of snow on the ground, torrential rain pummeling the roof, wind and ice coating the sidewalk, or rays of sun warming wedding guests as they enter. Well, I have to give it to them. Jordan and Coton picked the best day of the month for a wedding. It was sunny and 50 plus degrees. Never would I have guessed I would be outside taking portraits without even having to grab a jacket!
In addition to wonderful weather, the families and friends of the bride and groom were great. They were full of smiles and were willing to do just about anything to make this couple’s day perfect, even help the photographer (yeah that’s me) who knocked the bouquet vase filled with water on the floor (embarrassing moment number one). It shouldn’t have surprised me one bit, because Jordan and Colton are such awesome people. From the time I met them, I felt that they were easy to love -sincere, genuine, and kind, not to mention fun!
Jordan was cool as a cucumber and full of energy as she was getting dolled up for her trip
down the aisle. She engaged in laughter and several sweet moments with family members. Although it was her wedding day, she selected and gave gifts to her mom, dad, niece, nephew, and probably others that I didn’t know about. That just speaks to the kind of person she is-beautiful from the inside out. That beauty was evident all day from the top of her head to the soles of her feet. Her hair and makeup were flawless. From the time curls were being set to the flowing locks for the ceremony to her stylish updo by the end of the night, she rocked many looks. I expected nothing less from a professional hairstylist! Her classic off-white A-Line gown from David’s Bridal had a sexy plunge neckline that fit her to a tee and she rocked a few different wraps. This was a neat way to get varying looks with the same dress. There was a classic white shrug, a sparkling silver sequin jacket, and my favorite-the luxurious hunter green faux fur wrap.
WHAT A STUNNING BRIDE SHE WAS!
The ceremony was short and sweet, and I could tell the dapper Colton was the happiest man on Earth by the way he gazed at Jordan walking down the aisle. Escorted by her sweet dad, she carried a stunning bouquet from Bloom Floral Design of Kentucky and returned a tearful smile of joy to her husband to be. A melodious harmony of notes from The Yoonie Reich Trio filled the air as the two joined at the altar. They exchanged vows, rings, and shared a passionate kiss.
Mr. and Mrs. Clark’s reception was festive and filled with emotional moments as well as fun times. The food (and the beautiful cakes) from Sweet Lilu’s were OMG, lick your fingers, and smack your mama good! I have never had more scrumptious catered food in all of my life! I typically don’t eat on the job, but I’m so glad I let them talk me into taking a plate home. The maid of honor and best man gave emotional tributes to the couple, remembering moments from the past and sharing their joy that the two found each other. DJ Jessie with Sky Myles Entertainment kept the music pumping and fun was had by all who attended this event.
Jordan and Colton (and Deeda), thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. Everything, I mean EVERYTHING, was beautiful! You guys are an amazing couple, and I have no doubt that you will live happily ever after. It was an honor to be able to serve such a wonderful couple. Love you guys!
